Parks

In addition to the Lake Frances Recreation Area, Valier has two parks. Stroll through Main Street Park and enjoy the gardens, gazebo and picnic tables.

 

Miller Park, in the heart of Valier offers a large grassy area, lots of shade trees and public restrooms.

Across the street on Chouteau Ave. and 5th street the tennis courts are open for public use. 

 

Lake Frances Recreation Area

The Campground takes no reservations it is first come first serve.

Lake Frances Recreation Area is open to the public for boating, fishing and camping. There are 50 groomed campsites with electricity, picnic tables and fire pits, as well as numerous sites available for dry camping. Campsites 1-7 have 50 amp electrical hookups and campsites 6 & 7 are full service.  Sites 8-50 have 30 amp electrical hookups.

 

Amenities include clean restrooms, a fish cleaning station, an RV dump station with potable water fill up, children’s playground and grassy area for volleyball and badminton.

-The Fireman’s Pavilion is available for rental and is equipped with a kitchen and several tables for rental call Valier Volunteer Fire Department.

​

-Two boat ramps provided by PCC&RC. 

 

Walking and bike trails provide spectacular views of the Rocky Mountain front, memorable sunsets, plenty of interesting shorebirds and water birds to watch as well as a Great Blue Heron rookery on the nearby island. The lake is stocked with walleye and pike.

 

Fees for Campground

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sites 6 & 7 can be rented for $800.00per month. 

 

Generators are allowed in the non-electrical campsites.  No generators allowed to operate between the hours of 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

 

Dogs must be on a leash.

 

Burn clean firewood only in the designated fire pits.  No nails or hardware in wood and no pallets allowed.

 

Only a licensed driver can legally operate a four-wheeler or motorcycle in the campground.  Speed limit is 5 mph.  Stay on designated roads and paths.  The Pondera County Sheriff’s Department can and will enforce all speed limits and license requirements.  Tickets will be issued to violators.

 

Our goal is for everyone to have a safe and enjoyable stay. Our caretakers will be happy to answer any questions.  If they are not at the campground they can be reached at the following numbers:
